Jumpsuit for Joy

I absolutely love jumpsuits. They are as easy to outfit as dresses, but provide the security of pants. Not to mention, most of them are incredibly comfortable. This particular jumpsuit has been a favourite of mine this summer. The light, breathable fabric is absolutely perfect for those hot days. I decided to pair this jumpsuit with a classic denim jacket and white sneakers.

I’m also obsessed with this gorgeous bag from Shop Murphy. It’s the perfect shade of blush pink and it fits everything that I need. I paired it with a handkerchief for a more personalized look, but it’s absolutely adorable on it’s own as well.

Embroidered Denim

One of my favourite trends for spring and summer is embroidered denim. The embroidery instantly elevates your basic outfit and turns it into something a little more unique. I absolutely love this pair of Pilcro jeans from Anthropologie. They are so comfortable! I love to pair them with a basic tee and Converse sneakers when I’m running errands or going out with friends.

P.S. If you are looking for a pair of skinny jeans as opposed to the boyfriend cut that I’m wearing, I would recommend this pair from Free People. And if you’re interested in trying the trend, but don’t want to break your budget, you could try this vest from Forever 21.

Fifties Flair

yellow dress (7)_edited

I am so excited to talk to you about my experience shopping with http://www.eshakti.com. While browsing eShakti’s selection of dresses, I fell head over heels for this 1950’s inspired frock. I absolutely love the fit and flare style and the gorgeous hue. What really impressed me about eShakti was that nearly every element of this dress was customizable. I was able to have the dress tailored to my exact measurements and I adjusted the length to hit at my knee. I was also given the option to change the sleeves and eliminate the pockets on the dress. I chose to keep those two elements the same. The dress arrived really quickly and I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the garment. I would definitely order from eShakti again!

Comfy and Cozy

toque, earrings, necklace, sweater, jeansshoes

There is hardly anything I love more than the holiday season. What’s better than spending time with family, eating more food than you thought possible, and watching movies galore? Not much!

This sweater is the best way to stay cozy during those chilly winter days. I paired this sweater with a fun toque and a comfy pair of jeans. These shoes are no longer available, but I’ve linked a similar pair.

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas!

Summer Reading List

bookstuff 9

I love reading. In fact, I love reading so much that I will read any book with dynamic characters, an intriguing plot or a strong writing style. I was able to enjoy a few fantastic pieces of literature this summer that I just had to share with you!

bookstuff 7

The Hobbit – J.R.R. Tolkien

I’m pretty sure I was one of the few people on Earth who had never read The Hobbit and I’m kicking myself for not reading it sooner. This novel is captivating, fast-paced and fun. I highly recommend giving this a read (if you haven’t already).

Thirteen Reasons Why – Jay Asher

This book is definitely a page-turner. It is an essential read for anyone who has experienced loss or been affected by suicide. Jay Asher offers an entirely new perspective on this tragedy and it is a truly touching novel.

bookstuff 4

Eleanor & Park – Rainbow Rowell

Rainbow Rowell’s writing style is infectious. The words flow together seamlessly, and I fell in love with the characters immediately. Rowell has managed to perfectly capture the experience of first love. This is a novel I will read over and over again.

Fangirl: A Novel – Rainbow Rowell

I loved Eleanor & Park so much that I decided to pick up this novel as well. Fangirl will resonate with anyone who has found themselves adapting to a new situation. Once again, Rowell has created captivating characters that leap off the page. This is another must-read book.

Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) – Mindy Kaling

I’m a huge Mindy Kaling fan. She has a fantastic fashion sense and is absolutely hilarious. This book had me laughing out loud and I’m sure it will make you laugh your pants off as well.

bookstuff 5

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl – Jesse Andrews

This story is told through the perspective of Greg Gaines, a high school student with a desire to live entirely under the radar. When Greg’s mother encourages him to befriend his classmate Rachel (who has recently been diagnosed with leukemia), his plan to be invisible is officially thrown out the window. This is a story that is unexpectedly funny and bursting with fun.

Looking for Alaska – John Green

I am a huge John Green fan, and this was the only one of his novels that I hadn’t read yet. I love the way he captures the adolescent experience in this novel. The characters that John Green has created in Looking for Alaska are intriguing and the story really tugs at your heartstrings. This is definitely a must-read.
